The problem is his time is worth a lot more than those fines to him.
US Speeding fines are significantly lower than fines in Britain, France Germany, Australia or Asia. Contrarily to a common myth, US cities/states don’t finance themselves with speeding fines. It’s a tiny tiny drop in the bucket in the total budget.
One of the thing I noticed on US social media is that several american men (it’s always men) call major US cities crime-ridden democratic shitholes. They want harsh punishments for lawbreakers. These very same accounts don’t see breaking the law as a bad thing. Some even cheer attacks on cameras (destruction of public property). It’s actually insane that they don’t notice the hypocrisy.

Fines should scale with wealth. Millionaire wants to speed? Okay, pay a $100,000 fine.
This is common conservative “Outgroups to bind, in-groups to protect” dysfunction. They’re bad people.
